Malmo Airport (MMX) Information
(Malmo, Skane County, Sweden)
A complementary airport to Copenhagen's, Sweden's Malmo Airport is the fifth-busiest air hub in the country and one of the most important in Scandinavia. Formerly known as Malmo Sturup, this facility currently serves fewer than two million passengers every year.
The terminal is home to eight gates, while there are also two cargo terminals. Several airlines use the airport as a hub, including Malmo Aviation, West Air Sweden and Thomas Cook Airlines. Two runways are in operation, although only one is usable by short-haul and long-haul aircraft.
The closest city to the airport is Lund, although Malmo rests at almost the same distance from the complex.
Copenhagen is also close by, however, the capital of
Denmark is more commonly served by its own namesake international airport.

With decent traffic conditions, passengers can reach both settlements in about 20 minutes. Copenhagen can also be reached in less than an hour by turning left off the E65, onto the E20.
Buses
Shuttle buses and coaches make many daily trips from the airport to the city centre. The journey takes 30 minutes or more along the E65. Tickets should be purchased inside the terminal building.
Taxis
Taxis, which are available outside the Arrivals exit, are more expensive than shuttle buses, yet they are a faster way to reach the city centre. The Domestic Arrivals hall is where pre-booked taxis depart from.
